This Privacy Policy explains how CookFusion ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the CookFusion mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, name, and profile photo you provide when registering (including via Sign in with Apple or Google).
- Profile data: dietary preferences, allergies, family member names and preferences you add to personalize recipes.
- Photos: pictures of your fridge, ingredients, or food products that you take or select, used solely to identify ingredients and generate recipe suggestions.
- Usage data: recipes you save, cooking history, and shopping list items, stored to provide App functionality.
- Push notification token: a device token used to deliver notifications, if you grant permission.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To generate personalized recipes and meal suggestions using AI.
- To identify ingredients in photos you submit. Photos are transmitted securely for analysis and are not used for advertising or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
- To send push notifications you have opted into.
- To respond to support requests.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following service providers to operate the App:
- Supabase — secure database, authentication, and file storage.
- OpenAI — AI processing of ingredient lists and food photos to generate recipes and nutrition insights. Data sent for processing is not used by OpenAI to train models per their API data usage policy.
- Apple / Google sign-in — optional authentication providers.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored for as long as your account exists. You may delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account and associated data. You may also request deletion by emailing us.
5. Data Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with access controls. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. This Website
Sections 1–7 describe the CookFusion app. This section describes fred-webpro.github.io/cookfusion-support/ and its pages, which are separate.
- No cookies. This website sets no cookies of any kind, and stores nothing in your browser — no local storage, no session storage, no fingerprinting. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
- No third-party trackers. No analytics products, no advertising pixels, no social widgets. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so no request leaves for a third party when you open a page.
- Server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, which keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, page requested) for security and abuse prevention. We do not read, export or analyse them. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
- Author pages. A public author page loads that author’s published recipes from our database. The page view is counted the same way as any other page here — see “Visitor statistics” below — and nothing identifying you is recorded.
- Links out. The App Store link takes you to Apple, whose own privacy policy applies from that point.
Visitor statistics
We count page views on this site with our own counter, running on our own database. We do not use Google Analytics, Yandex Metrica or any other third-party analytics product, because the home page promises no tracking and we would rather keep that promise than measure more.
What is recorded:
- Which page was opened.
- The domain you arrived from, if any — google.com, not the full address of the page you were on.
- Your browser’s language, as two letters.
- Whether the screen is phone-sized, tablet-sized or larger.
- Whether the App Store button was pressed.
What is not recorded: no cookies and no browser storage of any kind, no IP addresses, no device fingerprints, and no identifier that would let one visit be linked to another. That last point has a consequence we accept: we cannot count unique visitors, only page views, and the admin panel says exactly that rather than pretending otherwise.
Nothing collected here identifies you, is combined with anything else, or leaves our database.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
